This strong, yet simple little device has a multitude of uses for photographers and videographers alike. Constructed from aluminium this camera bracket is both strong and light at the same time. It has a rubber coating on the bracket to ensure that the camera is mounted securely but without damage by the 6.4mm, ¼” camera screw. This screw has a socket on the base to allow the complete assembly to be mounted to a tripod or stand for more stable use.
At one end, there is a shoe attachment, which can be used for a variety of accessories, depending on whether a still or video camera is mounted. With a still camera, this is the ideal location for a flashgun or a remote sensor to be mounted that is close enough to the camera but still offset enough to avoid red-eye. With a video camera, the user can choose to mount a video light on this shoe for some additional illumination or alternatively a separate microphone so that the sound of the camera and lens motors is not picked up so easily when recording. This bracket can also form the basis of a macro set up using multiple flashguns. Surely this great little bracket should find its way into any photographer’s gadget bag?
