Featuring a dual optical lens system, it magnifies and intensifies the light output of LED COB fixtures while offering a smooth, rotating focus design to adjust the beam angle anywhere from a 12° tight spot to a 40° flood.

How does the dual optical lens design improve performance over the original Fresnel?

The Fresnel 2X utilizes a dual lens optical architecture:

• Rear Optical Element: Focuses and aligns the raw light beam from the LED chip onto the front lens element to eliminate light spill.

• Front 6-Inch Fresnel Lens: Magnifies the focused beam, delivering up to 2x the brightness of the first-generation Aputure Fresnel lens and significantly higher output than an unmodified light.

• Zero Light Leakage: Re-engineered housing prevents optical side-spill for clean, controlled beam edges.

How do you adjust the beam angle on the Aputure Fresnel 2X?

The Fresnel 2X uses a smooth rotating barrel design (similar to a camera lens zoom ring). Turning the outer lens housing allows filmmakers to smoothly adjust the beam angle from a 12° narrow spot to a 40° wide flood in seconds without needing tools or extra attachments.

Which LED lights are compatible with the Aputure Fresnel 2X?

The Fresnel 2X features a standard Bowens S-Type Mount and is designed to fit point-source LEDs:

• Aputure Light Storm Series: LS 120d II, LS 300d II, LS 300x, and LS 600d Pro / 600x Pro / 600c Pro (recommended for up to 600W COB fixtures).

• Aputure STORM Series: STORM 80c (via Bowens adapter) and STORM 400x.

• amaran Series: amaran 100d/x, 200d/x, 150c, and 300c.

• Third-Party Lights: Any LED COB light or studio flash equipped with a standard Bowens mount.

• Note: For 1200W+ high-output fixtures (like the LS 1200d Pro or STORM 1200x), the larger Aputure F10 Fresnel is recommended for optimal thermal and beam handling.

Does the Aputure Fresnel 2X support barndoors and accessories?

Yes. The front housing of the Fresnel 2X features a standard accessory collar that seamlessly accepts the Aputure Barndoors (4-leaf barndoors with magnetic gel holder), allowing precise flagging and light cutting on top of Fresnel focus control.
