JUST IN! Sennheiser EW512P Evolution Wireless G4 Lapel System from Dragon Image on Vimeo.
The New Sennheiser Evolution G4 wireless Lav System is in store so I thought I would see what is inside.
From the outset I was impressed by the new packaging, unlike the older G3 112 system that would come in a white foam box that was reused for the 112, 135 and 100 series G3, the G4 512 comes in a striking blue box, similar to that of the AVX of recent years.
Upon opening the case, the system looks similar in aesthetical design to the 112 receivers and transmitters, however as the saying goes 'if it's not broken, why fix it?' The buttons have changed on the face, slightly, from one to two, making it easier to go through your menus without accidentally clicking back or forward.
The system comes with the MKE2 Lavalier mic, which is Sennheiser's Gold Mic which is designed to pick up less ambience and more of the person speaking to camera.
A hotshoe is included to mount on to the camera if you have a DSLR or have a cold-shoe/hot-shoe available on your camera rig/set up.
4 x AA Rechargable Batteries are included.
The CL-500 included in the pack allows you to plug into a female XLR, like that of a Zoom recorder, or straight into camera. If you have a DSLR, the 3.5mm to 3.5mm screw allows you to plug in as well.
We will be uploading a video soon demonstrating how to set it up and what new features it includes: like going up to 32 channels. range of 100m, Up to 88 MHz bandwidth, increased RF output power and giving you up to 8hrs of operation time.
