After months of waiting, here it is, the DJI Ronin-S. Apart from having the global gimbal brand behind it, DJI, it also boasts an impressive feature list. Before you even unbox it, here are the specs:

1. 3.6kg payload. This payload puts it 400gs above the Zhiyun Crane 2. This payload gives it the ability to balance most DSLRs and Mirrorless cameras on the market. We are going to test it with the REDs in a later video.
2. Lasts 12hrs on a battery. This is not as long as the Crane 2, but 12hrs is more than enough time for a days work of footage. 
3. Manfrotto-esque Plate. If you already have a manfrotto system, this will make it easy to go from your 500 or 520 manfrotto head to the gimbal and back without having to change plates over and over again. 
4. Grip is rubberised and shaped well. This helps to reduce palm fatigue and allows you to hold it comfortably.
5. Multiple Working Modes. Pan Following / Locking / Following / roll 360 degree continuously. This gives you the ability to create different shots using the same system. 
6. App capabilities. You can controll the aperture value, shutter speed, ISO, motor torque and what camera you are using with an app.
7. Digital Follow Focus. Supports Panasonic, Canon and Nikon. This is unique to the other gimbals with focus on thw market. 
8. Panoramic / Timelapse. Hook and mount the gimbal to a tripod and you are set for some stunning timelapses. We can't wait to take it on location and try out this feature.
